We invite you to join in the celebration of the birth of a new meeting. Gentleness Humor Love Respect was named last night at it’s first meeting ever! It has been registered with the WSO And will be soon added to the meetings list here on AcaOregon.com. The meeting is Wednesday evenings from 6:30 PM to 8 PM in the Southeast room second floor of the Alano Club.
May the recovery flourish!
Join us for our BIRTHday on 1/28/15! We will be celebrating our new ACA meeting which will be born this Wednesday! You only get born once! The meeting will be every Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 in the SE room at the Portland Alano Club. Please join us for shares and fellowship. Our first gathering will close with a business meeting to select service members, a meeting name, and format. All are welcome to attend.
Correction: the Intergroup planning session will be only for Intergroup members, so as to have the most concise input in our short time to plan all of 2015’s events!
That said, your input is very valuable. Have an idea? Tell your Intergroup Representative or send an email to email@example.com, and we will bring your idea to the table!
It’s here – the 2015 ACA Oregon Intergroup planning session and potluck. On this fun, lighthearted, (and delicious!) afternoon, we get together to plan events for the coming year. Please feel free to come and share your ideas or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with suggestions. You can come with event ideas and/or speaker panel topic ideas.

Many thanks to Rexanna & Daveena for their work on getting this reserved for us!
The Saint Helens meeting was closed due to low attendance. If you are interested in starting another meeting in Saint Helens, please send an email to email@example.com, and we will post it on the site.

We are happy to inform you that the WSO is working on publishing our ACA ComLine which had been discontinued due to a lack of volunteers and a lack of articles. Our due date is March 1 so that we can publish by April 1, 2015.
In order to do so, we invite all of you to consider sending in any contribution of an article, poem, art and or a share regarding your strength, hope and experience in your path of recovery as an Adult Children of Alcoholics or Dysfunctional Family. The article should be no longer than 200 to 250 words. We require a release form to come with it which is included with this letter.
The new edition will include much of what was included before, plus a foreign language article since we are a worldwide fellowship.
Please send them to my email address. The form will need to be mailed to me if you can’t scan it with your own information. Let me know if you can’t scan it, so that I can send you my personal address.
Please send them to
At the 2014 ABC, the Literature Committee distributed an early draft this document. It has subsequently been reviewed and approved by the WSO board for consideration by the fellowship. Click here to download a copy [ http://www.adultchildren.org/lit/4x4_content_first_review_v1a.pdf ]for review. The Literature Committee further requests comments from the fellowship’s meetings and InterGroups. Please submit these comments to the WSO Literature Committee using the Contact Us web page. [ http://www.adultchildren.org/contact/ ] The Literature Committee intends to present the final version at the 2015 ABC for approval.
We encourage your groups to review this document, forwarding your comments as indicated. The Literature Committee plans to close the comment period on February 22, 2015.
For your reference, general literature selection guidance is discussed on pp.611-613 of the Fellowship Text.
The literature approval process is described on pp.18-21 of the Operating Policies and Procedures Manual at http://repository.adultchildren.org/images/organizational/OPPM.pdf
This is an invitation to all ACA fellowship members who are interested in what is happening with the World Service Organization. This is the board committee that makes all kinds of things happen with YOUR help, input and 7th tradition contributions, plus income from our literature. It is our intention to be as transparent as we can be so that all may know the process and procedures for our actions.
The meeting is held on the second Saturday of the month at 11:00 a.m. Pacific time USA.
There will also be a teleconference meeting the second week in January to discuss revival of the much-requested ComLine, one hour before the monthly board meeting. Please use the same phone number and access code. We will be meeting for approximately 45 minutes.
At last year’s ABC, January was designated ACA’s birthday month. It’s a wonderful excuse for your groups to organize a celebration. Speaker’s meetings, pot-luck dinner’s, or any sort of celebration may be appropriate. Since we’ve never done this before, we can celebrate any way we like. So get creative and have fun!
Happy Birthday, ACA!
