Hike, Meeting & Potluck Next Week!

“Over the river and through the woods” has been revived! Next week on Sunday, May 24 from 12 noon to 3pm, there will be a hike followed by an ACA meeting and potluck at Tryon Creek State Park. The park is located at 11321 SW Terwilliger Blvd in Portland. Meet at noon for the hike or come a little later for the meeting and potluck. Look for your fellow ACA’s and there will also hopefully be a sign for where the group will meet. The spaces are first come, first serve, so organizers hope to be there early to reserve a good spot and put out a sign. See you all there! “The healing begins when we risk moving out of isolation” (and share our experience with others who are just as afraid of moving out of isolation – we are not alone!)

Sharing Your Wisdom through Affirmations

To you – wise, recovering adult child. Yes, YOU are the wise one I’m talking about – with your gift of how you are working through old beliefs into new ones that hold you in gentleness, humor, love, and respect. We have a wonderful affirmations page on our site with contributions from a couple of ACA members. What are your affirmations? What are the things you most wanted to hear growing up? What does your Inner Child need to hear that your Inner Loving Parent can now offer?

We so often think we are alone/think that our story is “different” – THIS is part of being an ACA. To share your struggle and your tools for growth, this is service in ACA. Please send any of your favorite affirmations (as many as you’d like!) to or comment below. They will be continually added to the Affirmations page.
